Happy New Year!!

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson, 1850

How Much is that Harley in the Window? (roar! ROAR)

Merry Christmas...

Thought I'd share a little "diddy" this year for Christmas. Wrote it last year, to feature a giclee, release of "Crow Spirit" a canvas print. The tittle is: "How Much is that Harley in the Window" is sung to "How Much is the Doggie in the Window" hope you enjoy it~ Happy Holidays!

"How Much is that Harely in the Window"
Darcy Gerdes ©2009

How much is that Harley in the window? (roar! ROAR)
The one with the shinny new tail
How much is that Harley in the window? (roar! ROAR!)
I do hope that Harley's for sale.

I must take a trip to Flying Pigment Studio
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a Hog, he won't be so all alone with his radio
And the Harley will have a good home

How much is that Harley in the window? (roar! ROAR!)
The one with the shinny new tail
How much is that Harley in the window? (roar! ROAR!)
I do hope that Harley's for sale.

I read in the paper there are riders (roar! ROAR!)
With tail-lights that shine in the dark
My love needs a Harley to protect him
And scare them away with one quick park.

I don't want a Honda or Vespa
I don't want a bike with pearls
I don't want a little motor of blah
He can buy the bike for his girl.

How much is that Harley in the window?

It’s $450.00, a signed canvas print

A Quick Note About Briar Rose Winery

Briar Rose Winery marks a return to idyllic times as Temecula’s first, reservation-only, boutique winery. It is the fruition of a lifelong dream. In a sense, we have come full circle and we want to celebrate this return to a small, family-owned business. We welcome you to enjoy our wines, wander the gardens and savor the enchantment.

There is nothing quite like Briar Rose Winery. Nestled in the gentle rolling foothills of the Temecula Valley, the premium vineyards produce the most outstanding estate-bottled wines. A stroll around the quaint, European cottage-style, estate quickly reveals the relaxed and peaceful attitude that goes into each bottle of wine produced by Briar Rose. We are dedicated to producing small lot, limited production wines made from the most intensely flavored grapes from our lush vineyards. Annually, we produce about 2400 cases.

Specializing in reds, the estate-grown offerings include an intense Gold Medal Award Winning Estate Zinfandel, Zinfandel Port, Viognier, Orange Muscat and Riesling. Other offerings include a lively, fruity Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sherry, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and a Special Reserve Alitaco Port.

We are proud members of the Temecula Wine Growers Association and the California Wine Institute.

LIVE

" Live. And Live Well. BREATHE. Breathe in and Breathe deeply. Be PRESENT. Do not be past. Do not be future. Be now. On a crystal clear, breezy 70 degree day, roll down the windows and FEEL the wind against your skin. Feel the warmth of the sun. If you run, then allow those first few breaths on a cool Autumn day to FREEZE your lungs and do not just be alarmed, be ALIVE. Get knee-deep in a novel and LOSE track of time. If you bike, pedal HARD and if you crash then crash well. Feel the SATISFACTION of a job well done-a paper well-written, a project thoroughly completed, a play well-performed. If you must wipe the snot from your 3-year old's nose, don't be disgusted if the Kleenex didn't catch it all because soon he'll be wiping his own. If you've recently experienced loss, then GRIEVE. And Grieve well. At the table with friends and family, LAUGH. If you're eating and laughing at the same time, then might as well laugh until you puke. And if you eat, then SMELL. The aromas are not impediments to your day. Steak on the grill, coffee beans freshly ground, cookies in the oven. And TASTE. Taste every ounce of flavor. Taste every ounce of friendship. Taste every ounce of Life. Because-it-is-most-definitely-a-Gift." - Kyle Lake, "Sermon"
