ORIGINAL WORKS TO BE UNVEILED AT THE AAI JURIED MEMBER SHOW

Artist Norm Deesing "The Nomad"(c)2010
IDYLLWILD, CA, 9/05/10 – The Art Alliance of Idyllwild’s Annual Juried Member Show is a celebration of creative talent in a host of art mediums. Each year, the town’s top artists prepare new, original works of art, which include painting, sculpture, glass art, furniture, fabric, wood, metal, mixed media and photography. For artists, it’s a chance to admire the local competition. For art lovers, it offers the first pick of fresh, innovative works of art that range from the whimsical to the elegant.

The Art Alliance of Idyllwild’s Annual Juried Member Show is celebrating its 12th year. The show takes place the weekend of September 11 – 12, 2010, at Village Centre, C-1, located at 54245 North Circle Drive, in Idyllwild.

Come early and browse! The exhibition will be open on Saturday from 11:00 am until 4:00pm

Later that evening, hobnob with the artists at the Artist Reception, which takes place from 6 – 8 pm. Sample delicious treats as you examine the fine, original creations and chat with artists and art lovers. Juror awards will include photography, abstract art, representational art, mixed media and 3-dimensinal works.

Cast your ballot for the Artist of your choice to help determine the People’s Choice Award as AAI Artists decide the Artists’ Choice Award.

Be sure to spend some time at the “Under $100” exhibit, which boast some smaller, less expensive creations that allow art lovers to pick up some original works at very low prices. Add to your existing collection or start a new one for under $100! The Exhibition will remain open on Sunday, September 12, from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

The Annual Juried Member Show is part of the Art Alliance of Idyllwild’s “Second Saturdays” Series, which presents a noteworthy art event on the second Saturday of selected months from March through October. The series culminates with the Annual Art Walk and Wine Tasting, which takes place this year on Saturday, October 9th. A collector’s wineglass serves as your ticket to browse the AAI galleries, sampling the wares from as many as a dozen participating California wineries. Proceeds benefit art and art education.

The Art Walk and Wine Tasting is not to be missed! Tickets are available online at the Town Crier web site:
